Parse: Google Data Access Policy (Addendum to Privacy Policy)
Effective Date: 01/09/2025
This addendum outlines how Parse (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles data obtained through Google OAuth scopes and Google APIs, specifically as it relates to integrations such as Google Analytics, in compliance with Google’s API Services User Data Policy.
1. Data Usage
Parse accesses Google Analytics data solely to provide and improve core application functionality. This includes:
Generating proactive insights from your website or app performance data
Clustering signals with other tool data (e.g., Stripe, Segment, GitHub) to explain growth or drop-off patterns
Delivering traceable insights to executive teams via Slack, email, or mobile
We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics.
2. No Unauthorized Transfer of Data
We do not transfer Google user data to third parties, except:
When necessary to provide core functionality (e.g., cloud infrastructure providers who operate under strict data processing agreements), or
As required by law
We never sell or share Google user data with any third party for marketing or independent analytics purposes.
3. Transparency & Control
You authorize data access via secure, OAuth-based authentication
You may revoke Parse’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Permissions page
4. Security
Parse uses industry-standard security practices, including:
Read-only data access
Encrypted storage and in-transit data
Internal access controls and auditing
5. Compliance Statement
Parse’s use of Google user data fully complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
